Women’s bras may be hidden (in most cases) from the public but they actually have a lot to do with how a woman looks. The primary function of a bra is to provide support to a woman’s breasts. But a bra needs to do more than just that.

It needs to be functional, fashionable, comfortable, and yes, even durable. Finding the right bra for you is actually an art. There are many questions that you need to ask yourself when you are trying on bras. Do you need one with wide straps or can narrow straps give you the proper support? Do you want one that closes in the front or back?

Which colors do you need? Does your chest require a bra with padding or titanium under-wiring for additional fullness and support? There are so many choices when it comes to buying a bra that you can’t just go into the store and pick one off the rack.

Regardless of the reasons and needs that make you buy a bra, the one thing that you must keep in mind is that it needs to be comfortable. You want to make sure that the bra is flattering to your figure so that it enhances your appearance. Sometimes comfort and style go hand-in-hand. Other times they do not. If this is the situation, choosing the best comfortable bra rather than fashionable.

Here are some things to keep in mind when shopping for a new bra.

1. If you try it on at the store and it doesn’t feel right, it’s not going to feel any better on you when you get it home and wear it a few times. Remember, your bra stays on you from the moment you wake up in the morning to the time you retire at night. If that bra isn’t comfortable, you are not going to have a good day.

2. If you notice that the bra you are wearing is pinching your skin, stabbing, scratching, or providing any other type of discomfort then something is wrong with the bra. Finding a comfortable bra is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Why would you want to put yourself through a day of discomfort?

Some women will force themselves to deal with the pain or discomfort of their bra just because they feel the bra is pretty. They think that an uncomfortable bra is a necessary evil. That’s far from the truth. You can’t look good if you don’t feel good.

The fashion industry has taken the bra and changed it from a utilitarian object to a piece of fashion. There are now trends in bras just like there are clothing trends. The bra industry has really changed over the years. But the fact still remains that if your bra is not comfortable, you will not look your best.
